Anderson Silva exudes happiness for 'reinvention' and reveals proposal to compete for world belt in boxing

At 47 years old and about to have his third boxing fight since leaving the UFC in 2020, Anderson Silva He is “wasting” happiness in his recent endeavor in the noble art. During a recent appearance on the podcast “More than 8 minutes”, by comedian and journalist Rafinha Bastos, “Spider” spoke about his happiness in continuing to do what he loves: fighting.

"I am really happy. It was a renewal, I reinvented myself. When you do what you love, regardless of whether people say good or bad things, you are doing what you love and you are not worried about what people will say about you. Fighting is my air. When you find your breath within what you do professionally, you will be happy for the rest of your life. I’m super happy,” said Anderson.

After overcoming former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and “running over” the former UFC champion Tito Ortiz, Anderson Silva returns to the ring on May 14th, in Dubai, in an exhibition duel against compatriot Bruno Caveira in the “global titans”, an event led by the duel between Floyd Mayweater and Don Moore.

The “Spider” assured that he has other fight proposals ahead, including a fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) world title, something that, in principle, is not in the legend’s focus at the moment.

“Now in Dubai it will be an exhibition fight, but soon after I have other fight proposals. I had an offer to fight for the WBC (World Boxing Council) world title, several things happening. But wait, there are things you no longer need. There are a lot of cool things happening, a lot of really cool challenges,” he revealed.
