Jon Jones reinforces interest in superfight against Anderson Silva: 'Just beat Weidman'

After the defeat of Anderson Silva for Chris Weidman, a superfight between the Brazilian and Jon Jones had been practically discarded. However, in an interview with “Fighters Only” magazine, the light heavyweight champion surprised and revealed that he still believes he can face Spider in the octagon.

"Everything that Anderson Silva What you have to do is win your next fight against Chris Weidman, at UFC 168, in a decisive way. The interest continues to exist. The superfight is still on. I never really wanted to face Anderson Silva, to be honest. I knew this fight could happen, but I never had any desire to be the one to beat him or anything like that,” said “Bones”.

Jon Jones he also commented on Anderson's defeat to Weidman in July and the way it happened. “Watching UFC 162 when Anderson got knocked out in about five minutes was crazy. Just being there and witnessing something like that is insane. Seeing a great champion and an entire legacy end like that was humiliating. It made me see that this could happen to anyone. You have to take everything and everyone seriously, and you have to respect the sport. But at the same time, I still believe Anderson can come back. He’s still the best, but he lost,” he concluded.
