Although the fight is not confirmed, Jon publicly revealed that the ideal opponent would be Stipe Miocic, legend of the category up to 120,2kg. In recent days, Jones revealed that his possible opponent had requested more time to prepare for the clash.

If 'Bones' hasn't performed in over two years, Stipe has also taken a considerable hiatus from professional fights. The North American's last performance represented an epic stumble before Francis Ngannou, in March 2021, which resulted in the veteran losing his category belt.
