After controversial interruption, Scott Coker shows interest in scheduling a rematch between Velasquez and Carmouche

Bellator's president preferred not to comment on referee Mike Beltran's decision but said he would like to see a second duel between the two athletes

With an outcome surrounded by controversy, the duel between Juliana Velasquez and Liz Carmouche should happen again. At the press conference after the Bellator 279, which took place last Saturday (23), the president tried to remain aloof when asked if the interruption was hasty but showed interest in scheduling the rematch, taking back the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg), now in possession of the north- American.

“I’m glad I’m not a judge. I would never want to be a referee or a judge. That's something that, hey, these guys are professionals at what they do at the highest level. He saw how he saw. For me, I don't mind doing this fight again. I think they would definitely fight again. I don't mind fighting this fight again. Believe me, I'm getting calls from the manager, but there's nothing we can do. The fight is over. This is already done. Let's move on. Until then undefeated in professional MMA, Juliana Velasquez suffered her first controversial defeat to Liz Carmouche. The hasty interruption by referee Mike Beltran caused enormous discussion among fans and the specialized press. The Brazilian is now looking for the opportunity for a rematch to regain the flyweight belt.
