Heavyweight Cheick Kongo already has a confirmed opponent for his Bellator debut. The Frenchman, who did not have his contract renewed with the UFC in 2013, faces Mark Godbeer. The fight will be in the 101st edition of the event, scheduled for September 27th, in Portland, United States.
Kongo, who has an MMA record of 18 wins and eight losses, is coming from a bad moment in his career. In three recent appearances, the Frenchman has two losses, the last being to Roy Nelson at UFC 159 in April.
In turn, Godbeer has a professional record of eight wins and one loss. The Englishman, who will also make his Bellator debut, is coming off a triumph over Catalin Zmarandescu at BAMMA, in March this year.
