After a return to the strawweight division, Bate-Estaca aims for a new title fight in early 2023

Star of UFC Las Vegas 52, athlete believes he will need a new commitment before the chance to regain his lost throne in 2019

After the triumphant return to the strawweight division (up to 52,1kg) in the UFC Las Vegas 52, Jessica Andrade, Bate-Estaca, is eyeing its old belt. With the brilliant victory before Amanda lemos this Saturday (23), the woman from Paraná believes she is close to a title fight. In a press conference after the event, the athlete set a deadline to regain her status as a challenger.

“Without a doubt, after the result of the fight between Weili (Zhang) and Joanna (Jedrzejczyk), the UFC could give me the opportunity to fight one of the two. Then, yes, fighting for the belt, especially since the result of the fight Rose (Namajunas) against Carla esparza (do not UFC 274). I believe that the beginning of next year will be a great date to fight for the belt”, said the Brazilian.

Leader of the division in 2019, Bate-Estaca does not hide his anxiety to, once again, find himself inserted in a clash for the title. The athlete ended up losing the throne in the confrontation against Weili Zhang, in his first title defense.

“I'm ready for the opportunity to fight for the belt, to become champion again”, she concluded.
