'Fighter and journalist' suffers delay, but gets poked in the eye and wins by disqualification

Bitter taste in the first fight of the UFC Las Vegas 52. On the preliminary card of the night, Mike Jackson suffered a real delay against Dean Barry and was close to being knocked out, when he received a finger in the eye and was prevented from continuing in the fight. The judges, however, decided that the blow had been intentional and chose to disqualify his opponent.

Mike wins his first fight as a professional MMA fighter. With an adventure in journalism and a stint in boxing, the American now has a 'balanced record' with one triumph, one setback and one unsuccessful fight.

Barry, in turn, suffers his second career defeat. The fighter, who was making his debut in the organization, also has four other victories in mixed martial arts.

The fight

In the first attempts, Barry tried a round kick and hit Mike's private parts, who fell into the octagon and the fight continued to be stopped for 2 minutes. The American, however, returned to the fight and suffered a long delay, coming close to being knocked out, when he received a finger in the eye. He couldn't even open his eye and was unable to return to the fight.
