Diagnosed with a leaky aortic valve and an enlarged heart, the Dutch 'giant' Stefan struve recently stated that retiring is not an option. However, unlike the fighter, UFC president Dana White does not seem to believe that Struve will return to acting. In an interview with “CBS Sports Radio”, the manager spoke about the situation of the heavyweight.
“Yes, he has a serious illness, you know, and I honestly don't think he will ever (fight again). He has a problem in his heart. And you know, it's one of those terrible things that happens to people. I adore this boy. He has, no pun intended, an unbelievable heart. He's tough as nails. He's the nicest guy in the world, and we're going to do everything in our power to help him with this situation,” White said.
Stefan struve, just 25 years old, has a record of 25 wins and six losses. The fighter, who is an incredible 2,13 m tall, has been in the UFC since 2009. In his last fight, Struve, who had recently declared his interest in facing the Brazilian Rodrigo Minotauro, was knocked out by Mark Hunt, in March of this year.
