Former UFC veterans Diego Sanchez and Dan Hardy face off in a boxing match in July

The Brit and the North American will square off in the ring on the preliminary card of the duel between Ricky Hatton and Marco Antonio Barrera

The team of MMA fighters who venture into boxing, which already includes names like Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort, Conor McGregor, Tyron woodley and Ben Askren, is about to gain two more members. Former UFC veterans Dan Hardy and Diego Sanchez will face each other in the ring on June 2nd, in Manchester, England.

The duel between Hardy and Sanchez will be part of the preliminary card of the event that marks the return of Ricky Hatton and Marco Antonio Barrera to the ring. Without fighting since 2012, the British former lightweight world champion faces the Mexican, former super featherweight world champion, who, in turn, has not fought since 2011.

Speaking of a comeback, Dan Hardy also hasn't acted since 2012. The “Outlaw” announced his retirement from MMA after defeating Amir Sadollah in September 2012, citing health problems. The Brit left mixed martial arts with a record of 25 wins, ten losses and one fight without result. He recently asked to be released from his contract with the organization to look for another place to fight again.

Champion of the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter, Diego Sanchez He served in the UFC for more than 15 years before being released. The “Nightmare” last came into action in March this year, when they debuted at Eagle FC in a defeat to Kevin Lee.
