The meeting between veterans Clay Collard and Jeremy Stephens, without a doubt, will be among the best fights of the year in mixed martial arts. Adapting to the event, Collard overshadowed Stephens' debut and, after three intense rounds of pure striking, he was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.

Collard wins again in the organization and, as a bonus, adds three points in the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg.). In his career, the veteran has a record of 21 triumphs, nine setbacks and one unsuccessful fight.
Stephens debuts in the PFL with a defeat after a great stint in the UFC. Professional since 2005, the North American faced his sixth consecutive defeat at the worst moment of his career. He has a record of 28 positive results, 20 negative results and one unsuccessful fight.
The fight
Clay Collard and Jeremy Stephens They engaged in a frank striking duel from the first moment. With a game in boxing, Collard shook Stephens on several occasions, while the newcomer also had his moments from long distance. Both fighters gave up their defenses and went all out at a frenetic pace. Even in the first round, they received a standing ovation from the audience present.
If the 'war' was already intense in the first round, everything intensified in the second. The two athletes exchanged in the short distance and felt it, but they gave their all. Stephens was swayed by Collard's well-adjusted boxing, who also caught blows from his opponent.
Collard felt comfortable with kicks and punches at close range, while Stephens resisted the blows and didn't give up 'marching forward'. Clay then showed some tiredness and, even so, he also had great power and variety of strikes. At the last minute, Jeremy tried to put it down.
