In his third title defense, Nemkov was unable to repeat the good performances that took him to the top of the 93kg category. Even without the triumph, the Russian remains on the throne of the group, but an immediate rematch is inevitable.

The fight

The confrontation began with Nemkov taking the initiative with a high kick, which stopped in the American's guard. Anderson responded with a cross, but the Russian absorbed it well. Still in the first minute, Nemkov knocked the challenger off balance with a low kick. The clash remained tense, with the fighters exchanging blows in the center of the circular cage. Close to the middle of the round, Vadim went into a grappling fight and tried to take down his opponent. Corey managed to move away and then received a cross. With two minutes left in the stage, it was the North American's turn to look for a takedown, but the champion defended himself efficiently. The round ended with the athletes exchanging attacks close to the bars.

In the second round, the athletes started to engage in frank exchanges in the opening seconds. With an advantage in the attacks, Anderson went into a grappling fight and tried to take down the Russian. After insistence, Corey managed to take him down and used ground and pound. Even without force, Anderson continued to control the champion, who was protecting himself from below. In the final minute, Vadim managed to 'explode', got to his feet and reached his opponent's back. The athletes moved away, but there was no more time.

With just over a minute left, Corey rocked the champion with a right bomb. The challenger then took his opponent to the ground and returned to control of the fight. Near the middle of the round, the Russian attempted a guillotine choke, but Corey defended himself well. The North American managed to get to his back and didn't allow the champion to react. The stage ended with Anderson applying ground and pound. After an accidental headbutt, a deep cut opened on the Russian's eyebrow. Realizing the athlete's condition, the fight was interrupted.
