Wolverine releases image of knee injury and announces he is out of the UFC in BH

The UFC card at Combate 3, which takes place next Wednesday, September 4, in Belo Horizonte (MG), suffered a major loss this Friday (30). Using your profile on Instagram, the participant of the first edition of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil Hugo Wolverine published an image of an injury suffered in his left knee and announced that he is out of the event, in which he would face Wilson reis.

“Guys, unfortunately I won't be able to fight at UFC BH, because in my last jiu-jitsu training I suffered an injury to my left knee – which made it impossible for me to continue my preparation and, consequently, to fight. Thank God the injury is not serious and I will start treatment next week”, wrote the fighter on social media.

Wolverine also commented on his plans to return to the Octagon. “Very soon I will return to heavy training and I hope to perform in another edition of the UFC later this year. I'll be ready for that. I want to thank everyone who supports me and admires me, I'm counting on your energy in this recovery and I promise to prepare myself to put on a show in the next fight”, he concluded.

UFC no Combate 3 takes place on September 4th at Ginásio do Mineirinho, in Belo Horizonte (MG). In the main fight of the night, the top-3 light heavyweight category Glover Teixeira faces the North American Ryan bader. In the night's co-main event, former Strikeforce champion Ronaldo Jacare face the Japanese Yushin Okami. The Ultimate organization has not yet announced whether another athlete will replace Wolverine or whether Wilson reis will also be cut from fight night.
