The proposal to train in the same gym Conor McGregor was made by John Kavanagh in December 2021. At the time, the coach stated, in an interview with the English newspaper “Mirror”, that the doors of SBG Ireland would be open to Jake Paul and praised the social media phenomenon.
“If Jake walked through the doors, I would tell him to sign up, pay the fees and get on the mat. He would be very welcome here. I would love for him to come and train with us. I heard he has great energy and he’s a great character,” said Kavanagh.
In a recent interview with the same “Mirror”, Jake Paul was firm in refuting any possibility of training with Kavanagh and McGregor at SBG Ireland. The YouTuber harshly criticized the coach and his pupil, a former two-division UFC champion.
“I don’t train with losers. So as cool and respectful as that is, Coach Kavanagh, you can suck my ass. AND Conor McGregor, you can suck my b**** hole because I don't train with losers like you. The guy didn't win a fight, so why would I want this bum trainer teaching me?”, attacked the North American.
