Former Ultimate representative, Brian Stann has some 'friendly advice' to give to Khamzat Shimaev. By following the Swede's battle against Gilbert Durinho No. UFC 273, the MMA veteran isn't sure it's a good idea for the young man to challenge Kamaru Usman, due to a possible title dispute. In an interview with 'The MMA Hour', the former fighter explained his position.

“If I were your manager, I would say: 'You don't need to be in a big hurry (to reach the top of the category). The reward is Kamaru Usman. If you want to try beating that monster, we need to make sure you're comfortable, making a lot of money, and have a collection of victims under your belt. It's no use just training a lot. Mentally and sportingly, Kamaru Usman could be the best fighter on the planet,” Stann said.
Although he is not sure what the outcome would be in an eventual meeting between Chimaev and the 'Nigerian Nightmare', Brian gave his guess. The veteran believes that all the confidence of 'Dana White's pupil' could fall apart when he comes face to face with the champion.
“I don't know if he's ready and could crush Kamaru. I don't think he can win the way he says he can. He (Chimaev) needs to think that way, but no one enters the octagon and runs over Kamaru. That’s not going to happen,” he concluded.
No UFC 273, Khamzat went through the biggest challenge of his professional MMA career, but it didn't have an easy life. Against Gilbert Durinho, the Swede was scared and, for the first time, won in a judge's decision.
