In the process of clearly expanding its reach around the world, Ultimate announced that Singapore, in Southeast Asia, will be the first venue for an edition of the UFC in 2014, on January 4th. The announcement was made by the organization's managing director on the Asian continent, Mark Fischer.

Fischer also revealed that the fight night in Singapore will be just the first in a series of events in the East, which include new visits to China and Japan. Asia and Brazil are the regions in which the UFC has invested the most in recent years, as these are markets with growing consumption of the brand and high interest in combat sports.
