After unifying the linear and interim bantamweight belts (up to 61,2 kg) by defeating Petr yan in the co-main event of UFC 273, this Saturday (9), aljamain sterling has already set his sights on his next target: TJ Dillashaw. The former champion was challenged by Sterling still in the octagon and was also mentioned by Dana White as the likely next challenger for the division title.

In a press conference after the event, aljamain sterling remembered that TJ Dillashaw was one of his main critics after the incident in the first fight against Petr yan, last year, when he won the bantamweight belt after receiving an illegal blow from the Russian and being unable to continue in the fight.

PUBLICITY:

“He (Dillashaw) has been a big critic. The guy doesn't stop talking about me, about my heart. Saying that I don't have a fighting spirit. Fighting spirit means never giving up and I showed that this time and even on my worst night, which was my first performance against Yan. I showed what I’m capable of and my mental strength”, said the champion.

Sterling continued his outburst, attacking the category's likely next challenger. The current champion spoke about the doping cases that kept the former bantamweight belt holder out of competition for years.

PUBLICITY:

“If anyone is mentally weak, it’s this guy. The guy needs steroids to boost his career and win the number of fights he won in the UFC. I can't wait to punch him in the face. He's someone I'd like to punch. He has good skills, but he is a cheat, he is dirty and I would like an opportunity to slap him and prove who is number one”, he concluded.
