"I think that (Gilbert Durinho) Burns beats him in the second round. I don't think Khamzat (Chimaev) will attack Burns and I believe the fight will stay on. He (Durinho) is not afraid to throw strong (blows). I really think it will be a stand-up fight, I don't think either of them will go for grappling. And, if Khamzat stays at distance and just bets on jabs or crosses, Burns can go over,” said Muhammad.
Fifth in the rankings, Belal is keeping an eye on the possibilities for his future in the division. He even prepares to measure forces against Vincent Luque – who is a personal friend of Durinho. The fight is scheduled to take place on April 16, in Las Vegas (USA).
Gilbert now enters the UFC 273 with the mission of stopping the 'hype' of the undefeated Chimaev. He comes from victory over Stephen Thompson and dreams of a rematch against Usman, who ended up beating him in February 2021. The setback actually marked the only time the Brazilian was defeated at welterweight (under 77kg). In retrospect, there are 20 triumphs and four setbacks.
At 27 years old, Chimaev is undefeated in his MMA career. Professional since 2018, he has 10 consecutive victories, all on the fast track. Khamzat occupies 11th place in the ranking led by Usman.
