This Saturday (9), on the main card of UFC 273, Gilbert Durinho e Khamzat Shimaev they star in one of the most anticipated duels of the year, valid for the welterweight division (up to 77 kg). After months of provocations and an unusual meeting in the hotel corridor, the two athletes had their first official meeting during the event's press conference, last Thursday (7).

As it could not be otherwise, there was no shortage of provocations from both sides, especially from the Swedish naturalized Chechen. In a question directed at the Brazilian, about his underdog status, Chimaev interrupted to provoke, even punching the conference table, in one of the highlights of the night.

“He’s definitely the underdog,” Chimaev said before dropping the microphone and punching the table.

The scene starring Chimaev did not go unnoticed by Durinho, who did not miss the opportunity to mock his rival.

“Oh, he’s mad. He punched the table. See you Saturday, brother”, Durinho mocked.

Chimaev responded, stating that he would be ready to face Durinho even before the UFC 273.

“I can see you any minute. Let’s go backstage and I’ll smash your face”, challenged the Swede.

“You’re not going to do shit”, replied the Brazilian

“Just like yesterday, when you ran away”, concluded Chimaev, referring to the meeting between the two in the corridor of the hotel where they are staying.

In addition to the duel between Gilbert Durinho e Khamzat Shimaev: UFC 273 features title fights in the featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) divisions. The event takes place this Saturday (9), starting at 19pm and has complete, real-time coverage of the SUPER FIGHTS.
