Ultimate bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), aljamain sterling stole the show at the promotional press conference for the UFC 273, which takes place this Saturday (9), in Jacksonville (USA). Star of the long-awaited rematch against Petr yan for the group's absolute title, the North American decided to provoke his opponent, appearing wearing a helmet and carrying a 'book of rules'. The action was to remember the knee that disqualified the Russian a year ago.

“I need to be prepared. You never know what a guy like Petr yan can. It’s just in case he decides to do something illegal,” Sterling said.
This weekend, Aljamain will have the opportunity to prove that winning his linear belt was not just the result of a disqualification on the part of the Russian. Back in the Octagon after more than a year of inactivity, the American exuded confidence throughout the press conference broadcast.
“I'm here to shut this son of a bitch up. Will be amazing. (…) He’s a tough opponent, but he’s a dirty fighter,” she concluded.
Former absolute bantamweight champion, Yan returns to the Octagon to try to regain his lost throne in UFC 259. Outside the top of the category and with Sterling injured for much of the 2021 season, the Russian ended up winning the division's interim belt, when he beat Cory Sandhagen. Now, the fighter will have the opportunity to unify the title.
