Last Thursday (7), the two athletes had their first official meeting, at the event's press conference. In an event marked by many provocations between rivals such as aljamain sterling e Petr yan ou Gilbert Durinho e Khamzat Shimaev, Volkanovski and the Korean zombie maintained a more respectful discourse between them.

Without the presence of Dana White, who was traveling and did not attend the press conference, and with the heated atmosphere of rivalry between the fighters, it was decided that the event would not feature the traditional face-offs between the fighters. However, after a request for Alexander Volkanovsky, the featherweight champion and challenger were given permission to face each other.

Watched closely by UFC commentator Jon Anik, Volkanovski and the Korean zombie they had a calm look. Afterwards, the featherweight champion shouted at the crowd and ripped the t-shirt he was wearing.
