Days before the historic confrontation between aljamain sterling e Petr yan, UFC 273, for the unification of the bantamweight belt, the organization decided to highlight some of the linear champion's achievements. On its social networks, Ultimate decided to highlight four submissions from the fighter, who is looking for his place at the absolute top of the 61,2kg division. The duel between the North American and the Russian takes place this Saturday (9), in Jacksonville (USA).

The first submission shown took place in the confrontation between Sterling and Takeya Mizugaki, in 2015. The triumph came categorically, with a hand triangle, which forced the rival to tap out.
The second outcome occurred in the clash between the current champion against the Brazilian Johnny Eduardo, also in 2015. This time, victory came via guillotine.
Jiu-jitsu also marked Sterling's positive result against cody stmann, in 2018. Now, the 'attempt' came with a kneebar.
Closing the list, the last submission applied by the linear champion in UFC clashes. The duel was against Cory Sandhagen, in 2021, in which Aljamain won in a flash with a rear naked choke and ended up qualifying for the bantamweight belt fight.
This weekend, Sterling returns to the Octagon just over a year after winning the bantamweight belt against Petr yan. At the time, the Russian ended up losing the throne due to disqualification, after applying an illegal knee, which left the North American unable to continue in the fight. Now, the athletes meet again in a historic fight for the category.
