Out of action since his last fight in Strikeforce, in January, when he won the welterweight belt of the now defunct organization, Tarec saffiedine has already chosen who he wants in his first fight for the UFC. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, the Belgian, who ended up being cut from the fight against Robbie Lawler last month due to an injury, he revealed that he wants to face the winner of the duel between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann, which takes place next Wednesday (28).

“I will be watching this fight closely on Wednesday, between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann. I really like these fighters, they would both be good fights for me. I would like to fight the winner of this fight. Both are coming off defeats, but I think Carlos did well in those fights he lost. Martin was knocked out against John hendricks. It’s going to be a war, I’m looking forward to seeing it,” said Saffiedine.

The Belgian, who wants to fight again at the end of this year or the beginning of next, also stated that he doesn't choose his opponents, but that he wants to fight against the best in the category. “Obviously, I don't choose my opponents, they decide. I didn't call anyone out, I didn't ask for a fight. Lawler was a tough opponent, it would have been a great fight. But, for my next fight I'm hoping to face a top-10 or top-5,” he concluded.
