Before and after his defeat to Anthony Perosh at UFC Rio 4, Vinny Magalhães stated that he agreed with his dismissal from Ultimate due to the succession of negative results and even said that he would end his career by leaving the main MMA organization on the planet. It seems that this was just a hot-headed statement and that the Brazilian will continue to act professionally.

“I never really thought about retiring. I made these comments 24 hours after I had lost a fight, so I was still a little frustrated and was being very emotional with my responses. That's why I haven't said anything since. I needed to relax and think straight before I started talking about my next steps,” the fighter told the “MMA Fighting” website.
