Long recovery times for injuries are a blessing for the “Korean zombie” Jung Chan-Sung. The athlete, who had already been out of action for fifteen months before facing José Aldo at UFC Rio 4 (last August 3rd), he will now be out of action for around a year after dislocating his shoulder and fracturing his left orbital bone in the defeat to the Brazilian.
The information was disclosed to the North American channel “FOX Sports” by Brian Rhee, Chan-Sung's manager and translator. According to Rhee, the “Korean zombie” will undergo two surgeries and the combined recovery time for both is up to 12 months.
Jung Chan-Sung, 26, has a record of 13 wins and four losses. The South Korean, ex-WEC, was undefeated in Ultimate until his defeat to José Aldo. After the first setback in the organization, the “Korean zombie” has a record of three wins and one defeat in the UFC.
