Cory Sandhagen warns Petr Yan not to underestimate Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273

Defeated by both fighters, the North American asked for respect and warned the Russian athlete about the qualities of the linear champion

Cory Sandhagen knows well the protagonists of the co-main fight of the UFC 273, aljamain sterling e Petr yan. Defeated by the two athletes in recent clashes, the 'Sandman' praised the qualities of the bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) and said that the Russian cannot think that the rematch will be easy, as he was winning the first clash until the fateful blow illegal.

“I think Sterling is always dangerous because he's a good grappler and I think Yan is super dangerous because he punches hard as hell. I think Yan is probably the more well-rounded guy, but I think if Yan goes in thinking he's going to crush him because of the way the last fight went, I think that would be a big mistake on his part, but I don't think that he would make that mistake,” Sandhagen said.

In his last fight, in October 2021, Cory faced Petr yan No. UFC 267 and was defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges. Sandhagen was also stopped by aljamain sterling with a submission in the first round, in June 2020. The two 'Sandman' tormentors will take part in the co-main fight of the UFC 273, on April 9th. The confrontation will be valid for the linear bantamweight belt, currently held by the North American.
