Last Brazilian representative on the preliminary card of the ufc columbus this Saturday (26), Karol Rosa entered ready to get closer to the top-5 of the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg.). However, in combat, the Brazilian found it difficult to control the experience of Sara McMann and ended up defeated in a unanimous decision by the judges.

Karol now has his streak of six wins broken and is unable to go through the most difficult fight of his career. The Brazilian loses for the first time in the UFC and feels the 'bitter taste' of the fourth negative result. On the other hand, she also has another 15 positives.

McMann, on the other hand, manages to recover from the setback against the defending champion Julianna Pena and wins the 13th triumph in his career. The North American has also been defeated on seven occasions.

The fight

From the beginning of the fight, Karol Rosa tried to control the center of the cage. Sara McMann, however, neutralized the opportunities and managed a takedown. The North American fell into half guard and tried to attack the left arm of the Brazilian, who was just defending herself.

On the way back, Sara tried to close the distance, but saw Karol make the save. In complete control, the North American once again bet on takedowns and, efficiently, reached the Brazilian's back. An expert in the rear naked choke, she adjusted her position and transitioned to the armbar. Rosa took the opportunity to make the save, applied knees from above and did enough to continue the duel.

Willing to go for 'all or nothing', Karol tried a flying knee 'à la Jorge masvidal', but saw McMann defend himself with a takedown attempt. The Brazilian then made the save, but saw her opponent reach her back on her feet. Showing her will, Rosa managed to reverse the situation and fell on top, but she didn't do enough to hurt Sara.

In the fifth fight of the ufc columbus, valid for the division of roosters (up to 61,2 kg), Chris Gutierrez defeated Bategerel Danaa with one of the most beautiful knockouts of the year in Ultimate. The American took the Mongolian to the canvas with a spectacular spinning punch in the second round and completed the job with devastating ground and pound.

With the victory in ufc columbus, Chris Gutierrez has been undefeated for seven fights and has won three consecutive victories. The North American hasn't lost since November 2018, when he was beaten by Raoni barcelos in his octagon debut.

On the other hand, the defeat of Batgerel Danaa interrupted a sequence of three victories for the Mongolian athlete. The 32-year-old fighter now has three triumphs and two setbacks in Ultimate.

In the fourth fight of ufc columbus, valid in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), Aliaskhab Khizriev impressed and submitted his compatriot Denis Tiuliulin in the second round. The athlete from the Republic of Dagestan dominated the first round and accelerated in the second round to take victory.

the fight against Denis Tiuliulin marked Aliaskhab Khizriev's UFC debut. The athlete from Dagestan maintained his unbeaten record in his career and now has 14 victories in professional MMA.

On the other side, Denis Tiuliulin, who also debuted in Ultimate this Saturday, now has nine wins and six losses in his career.
