the american Chael Sonnen left the middleweight category after being defeated by Anderson Silva, at UFC 148, which took place in July last year. Even so, the fighter appeared positioned on the UFC's top ten list in two different categories.

A year ago, Sonnen decided to return to light heavyweight, the category in which he started his career and which marked his first career in the UFC. In this Monday's update, after UFC Fight Night 26, Chael appeared in tenth place among the light heavyweights and ninth in the middleweight list.

Defeated by Sonnen in the main fight of last Saturday's event, the Brazilian Mauricio Shogun he fell one position and is now ninth in the light heavyweight standings. This was the first time in his career that Shogun lost two fights in a row.

The biggest jump in the UFC rankings was made by heavyweight Travis Browne. The Hawaiian gained three positions and is now fifth on the heavyweight list. The Dutch alistair overeem, knocked out by Browne on Saturday, lost two places and is now seventh.

Even without having fought at UFC Fight Night 26, Raphael Assunção he was the only Brazilian who rose in the ranking. Benefited from the defeat of Brad pickett for Michael McDonald, Assunção is now fifth among bantamweights. Pickett dropped to sixth and McDonald held on to third behind Urijah faber, who also won on Saturday.
