Gilbert Durinho's rival, Khamzat Chimaev reveals plans to train with Jon Jones

Swede praises 'Bones' legacy and power to overcome difficult opponents in his career

Promising welterweight (up to 77kg.) and with a chance of competing for the title, if he gets past the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho No. UFC 273, which takes place on April 9, Khamzat Shimaev wants to assemble a 'team of stars'. In addition to fine-tuning your game with Darren till, the Swede expressed a desire to train with Jon Jones and praised him for his legacy in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.).

“Maybe I’ll text Jon Jones. I said I want to train with him. The guys he defeated were monsters in his division. And he didn't face bad fighters, but he made them all look easy,” Chimaev said on his official YouTube channel.

After recent controversy over alleged assault against his wife, Jon Jones was kicked out of the team'JacksonWink' and now he's looking for a new gym. O 'Bones' has even worked on his game with Henry Cejudo at 'Fight Ready', in Arizona (USA).

Chimaev, in turn, trains in Sweden and is in the final stretch of preparation to face Durinho. The duel could even define the winner as a 'challenger' for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg), which must first be contested by the champion. Kamaru Usman and the challenger Leon edwards.
