After teasing Jorge masvidal, arrested last Wednesday (23), accused of assaulting Colby covington in a restaurant in Miami (USA), Rafael dos Anjos got an unusual response. After suggesting that the UFC grant him the 'BMF' belt, which belongs to 'Jesus das Ruas', RDA ended up being countered by Conor McGregir, who spared no irony for the Brazilian.

Highlights in the history of UFC lightweights (up to 70,3 kg.), Dos Anjos and McGregor would face each other in 2016. At the time, the Brazilian held the division's linear title, and would defend the throne against the Irishman, who had just taken the belt in José Aldo, in featherweights (up to 65,7kg.).

The Niteroi native, who was already participating in the promotion of the duel, which would take place at UFC 196, ended up getting injured and leaving the fight. In place of RDA, he entered Nate diaz.

Even after recovering, the confrontation between Rafael and Conor never got off the ground. The Tupiniquim lost his throne when he faced Eddie Alvarez and McGregor assumed the absolute top of the division, when he overcame the North American, at the end of 2016.

Recently, Dos Anjos returned to fight against the Irishman. While the Brazilian is enjoying a great moment in the category, the 'Notório' is recovering from a serious injury suffered in July 2021.
