Masvidal is released after posting bail and pleads not guilty to Covington's charges

UFC star is released from prison after paying a stipulated amount; fighter has new audience confirmed for April

After assuming prominence in the MMA community for an unsportsmanlike reason, Jorge masvidal is free from prison, in Miami (USA), and claims innocence on charges of assault on Colby covington. Released after paying bail of US$15 (around R$72.500), the Ultimate star has a date to return to court. According to 'MMA fighting', 'Jesus das Ruas' must appear on April 21, for a new trial.

The situation involving the two former best friends happened last Monday night (21). At the time, Jorge, who was defeated by Colby in the UFC 272, would have gone to a restaurant to 'get satisfaction' from his rival. The 'encounter', however, resulted in an injury to Covington's tooth, which took the case to the Miami police.

Central to the confusion, Masvidal was arrested about two days later. If convicted, the veteran could face up to 15 years in prison, in addition to a fine of up to US$10 (around R$193).

The confusion involving Jorge and Colby ended up not being translated into the limits of the Octagon. Opponents in UFC 272, the combatants staged a tepid confrontation. After five rounds, Covington was declared the winner with a unanimous decision by the judges.
