The Brazilian Iuri Marajó was the underdog in the fight against Urijah faber at UFC Fight Night 26, an event held this Saturday (17), in Boston. But with a mind-boggling first round, the athlete from Pará came very close to defeating the North American. However, with more experience, the former WEC champion managed to recover from the struggle and win the dispute with a unanimous decision from the judges.

As soon as the duel began Iuri went all out and in a quick counterattack he knocked Faber down and reached mount. The Brazilian worked with some punches and tried the submission with an armbar. The North American defended himself, but Marajó got to his back and worked on the position with blows, trying to open up space for the choke.

Despite the Brazilian's extensive dominance in the first round, in the final minute Faber managed the reversal and tried to take away the damage with several elbows from above.

In the second half, Faber didn't want to take any risks and soon took down the Brazilian and took the fight to the ground. On top, he worked with several punches and elbows, which severely punished Marajó.

In the third round, the North American followed the same strategy and kept the Brazilian on the ground in the ground fight. Already tired, Iuri tried an armbar in the final minute, but Urijah defended himself well and took the fight by the judges' decision (30×27, 30×26, 30×26).

“Ambulance Man” loses another one

Urijah Hall arrived in the UFC with the reputation of “Ambulance Man” for sending his opponents in TUF 17 to the hospital. However, after surprisingly losing the final of the reality show, he was once again disappointing in the octagon. Against John Howard, Hall even started better, taking down his opponent and working on top. But, as time went by, Urijah lost himself in the fight.

With visible concern about not letting go of the game and putting the victory at risk, Hall was dominated in the second half. In the third round, the “Ambulance Man” was still knocked down and left the octagon with his second consecutive defeat. After 15 minutes, John Howard won the judges' split decision (30×27, 28×29, 29×28).
