In a great fight, Diego Brandão wins on the UFC Fight Night 26 preliminary card

Brazilian fighter fought a great battle with Daniel Pineda and took the win with a unanimous decision from the judges

Whoever arrived early at TD Garden, in Boston, to watch UFC Fight Night 26 got a big prize. The preliminary card of the event featured seven electrifying fights that drew applause from the public. Highlight for the Brazilian Diego Brandao, who in a great fight, defeated Daniel Pineda in an electrifying dispute full of alternations.

Winner of the 14th season of TUF, Diego Brandao The fight began with everything in front of Daniel Pineda. The Brazilian showed his power in striking and connected several punches on his rival who ended up going to the ground. Confident in his fists, Diego asked his opponent to get up. The Brazilian also applied a new sequence of punches followed by a flying knee to the North American who managed to survive the duel.

Despite Diego's dominance in the first round, the second half was very different. Already showing fatigue due to the strong pace at the beginning of the fight, the Brazilian was unable to repeat the same performance and tried to work with his takedown game. However, when he seemed to control the fight from above, Brandão was swept by Pineda and ended up on the bottom in mount. From then on, he suffered an arsenal of punches and was almost knocked out.

With the fight strictly drawn, the third round would be responsible for defining the winner of the fight. Even tired, Diego managed to impose good takedowns and land hard blows on Pineda, who this time was unable to reverse the position. In the final minute, the fight returned to standing and the fighters, despite being exhausted, went on the attack and exchanged blows in a maddening manner until the end of the fight.

In the end, victory Diego Brandao in the unanimous decision of the judges (29×28, 29×28, 29×28).

Michael McDonald finishes Brad pickett

In another great battle, Michael McDonald also put on a show against the Englishman Brad pickett. The number 3 in the bantamweight rankings started the first round with everything and almost knocked out his rival on three occasions. But the British, with a lot of courage, managed to survive the fight.

In the second round, Pickett changed his strategy and took down McDonald, working with strikes from above. However, when the fight seemed to be balanced, Michael McDonald surprised his rival and went for the submission with a triangle choke. With a very well placed blow he forced his rival to give up the fight.
