Protagonist of one of the great turnarounds in UFC London, held last Saturday (19), Paul Craig set his sights high on his next challenge in the organization. Executioner of Nikita Krylov and owner of one of the performance bonuses after the show, the Scotsman stated that he wants to face Anthony Smith in sequence. Former challenger for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg), the veteran is currently number five in the group.

“I believe I'm getting closer to the top 5 (after beating Krylov). (…) The first four placed must face each other. I defeated (Magomed) Ankalaev, I beat Jamahal hill. (…) I’m looking for a new opponent, a challenge”, said Craig, at a press conference after the weekend’s event.
After making a brief analysis of the situation at the top of the category led by Glover Teixeira, Paul turned his eyes to Anthony Smith. Even without disrespecting his possible rival, the Scotsman assessed the scenario for the confrontation.
“Everyone in the top 10 has great jiu-jitsu, good standing and good wrestling. (…) I believe I have better jiu-jitsu. He (Smith) is not hungry like I am. He doesn’t put himself in danger that much,” he concluded.
Last Saturday, Craig took an important step towards the top of the light heavyweight division. After beating Krylov, the athlete should be included in the top 10 group and, in addition, he extended his undefeated streak to six fights.
