Responsible for broadcasting UFC events in Brazil for almost two decades, Combate signed a 2012-year contract with the organization in 10. For more than a year, the two parties have been trying to reach an agreement to renew the agreement, but without success.

With just over nine months remaining until the end of the current contract, the UFC would be studying the market to possibly bring the “Fight Pass” service to the country, starting to broadcast all events on its own platform. Also according to information from “MMA Fighting”, the tendency is for the amount charged for the “Fight Pass” service in Brazil to be lower than the current cost of Combat.

In addition to the pay-per-view agreement, Rede Globo also has the right to broadcast UFC events on its free-to-air channel and on SporTV, a cable channel, although it has not done so since 2018. It is not yet known whether the UFC intends to look for another open TV channel to broadcast some events in this model, as it did during a short period with RedeTV at the beginning of the last decade.
