Former UFC bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate debuts in the flyweight division against top 3 at UFC 276

Veteran faces off against Lauren Murphy on July 2nd and could get closer to the belt if she wins; Initially, the fight would take place in May

After confirming his move to flyweight (up to 56,7kg.) and confirming his debut against Lauren Murphy for May, Miesha Tate has a new date for its debut in the new category. Former UFC bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), the veteran will now be one of the stars of the UFC 276, which takes place on July 2nd. In case of victory, the North American could get closer to a title fight, which currently belongs to the Valentina Shevchenko.

UFC bantamweight champion in 2016, Tate retired from MMA in the same year, after two consecutive defeats. One of those responsible for promoting women in mixed martial arts, the fighter decided to resume her career in 2021.

After a hiatus of almost five years, Miesha returned to the octagon in a confrontation against Marion Reneau. On that occasion, the former champion shone and won with a knockout in the third round.
