After defeat to Ankalaev, Thiago Marreta dismisses rumors of retirement and projects a comeback

Going through a difficult time in his career, the Brazilian Thiago Marreta He made a point of making it clear that he will not retire now. In a post made on his Twitter, the former challenger for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) said that everything was just a bad phase, ruled out the possibility of retirement and promised to turn things around.

“I've been in this sport for many years now. And everything in life has a beginning, middle and end. We need to understand that the time will come for everyone, and I absolutely understand that. But my time has not come yet, not yet, not now. Believe it or not, I will overcome this phase and I will rise again”, wrote Marreta.

At a complicated moment in his career, Marreta was defeated in four of the last five fights he fought with Ultimate gloves. In the midst of the triumph over Johnny Walker, in October 2021, the Tupiniquim athlete suffered setbacks to Jon Jones, Glover Teixeira, Aleksandar rakic e Magomed Ankalayev.
