Colby covington continues with the aim 'sharp and pointed' towards Dustin poirier for his run in the UFC welterweight division (up to 77 kg.). The 'Chaos', which comes from victory over Jorge masvidal, plans to measure forces against another member of the 'American Top Team' and asks his compatriot to leave his fighting plans with Nate diaz to face it.

“I didn't need to use Dustin's (Poirier) name, as he always used my name in interviews to gain exposure and increase his value in fights. His trainer said Dustin will be a 'bigger and better' welterweight than he was at lightweight. So why is he trying to confront a guy (Nate diaz) who shouldn't even be fighting anymore? Dustin claims he is top 10 among all fighters in the world, so come prove it,” Covington said in an interview with 'Submission Radio'.
Then, Colby stated that a possible dispute would be worth Dustin's 'honor and dignity'. He highlights that he has already spoken about team members, friends and even his compatriot's wife, in addition to calling himself a 'pound-for-pound champion'.
“I'm the 'pound-for-pound champion.' If he wants to keep some honor and dignity for himself, he needs to come fight with me. I talked about his wife, his family, his team, his friend. Man, if you have any respect for yourself, you have to come and at least try. Try it, Dustin,” he finished.
Former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Poirier recently stated that he would not accept a challenge with Colby inside the octagon. The athlete even said that, if they faced each other, they would both go to prison.
The disagreement between Covington and Poirier resembles the 'Chaos' problem with Jorge masvidal. Just like 'Jesus of the Streets', Dustin is also an important part of the American Top Team, Colby's 'former home'. When he was fired from the gym, the athlete began to collect dislikes.
