Last Saturday (12), Adam Borics and Mads Burnell faced each other in the main event of Bellator 276 in a duel between two strong contenders for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg). After five rounds of pure striking, the Hungarian emerged victorious in a unanimous decision from the judges (49-46, 50-45, 49-46) and left the Dane with a disfigured face.

Despite the superiority illustrated by the judges' sheets, the duel was competitive from start to finish. With his base in Muay Thai, Borics diversified his attacks more and ended up prevailing against Burnell's boxing and causing great damage to the Dane's face.
With the victory over Mads Burnell in the Bellator 276, Adam Borics practically assured an opportunity to challenge for the featherweight belt in his next fight, although Scott Coker, the organization's representative, adopted a more cautious speech. The Bellator president stated that he prefers to wait for the rematch between A. J. McKee, current champion, against Patrick Pitbull, former holder of the belt, to cement the Hungarian's future.
