Thiago Marreta's rival, Magomed Ankalaev reveals his desire for a 'violent victory' at UFC Vegas 50

Opponent of Thiago Marreta in the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 50, light heavyweight (up to 93kg) Magomed Ankalayev made it clear that he intends to beat the Brazilian categorically. On the 'media day' of the show that will take place next Saturday (05), the Russian did not hide his enthusiasm for his first main fight and revealed his desire for a 'violent victory' over the Brazilian athlete.

“Thiago is very tough at first and a high-level striker. I'm ready for the fight, to put on a show and for his style and strategies. I'm ready! It's hard to say if I'm going straight for the belt. It really depends on the fight and how I'm going to beat Thiago. But I hope I get an opportunity to fight for him soon. Obviously I want a victory. How I will win is difficult to say, but I want a violent victory on Saturday night,” said Ankalaev.

The Russian athlete was sincere when he stated that he is close to a possible title fight and did not hide his excitement for his first main fight for Ultimate.

“I feel good and I'm very excited to fight on Saturday night. I feel like it's an achievement. I'm happy that the UFC bosses gave me the chance to be in a main event. I'm not going to lie, I'm so close to the title that nothing bothers me. I’m just focused on the fight and the belt”, concluded the Russian athlete.

Number six in the light heavyweight rankings, Magomed is enjoying an incredible moment in his career, backed by seven consecutive victories. His last defeat was in March 2018, when he was submitted by Paul Craig. The Russian has an MMA record of 16 wins and just one setback.
