The broken foot suffered during the fight against Korean zombie, last Saturday (3), was not the featherweight champion’s only clinical concern José Aldo after UFC Rio 4. According to the blog “Na grid do MMA”, Aldo was treated at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro this Tuesday (6) after suffering severe renal colic in the afternoon.

According to the UFC's doctor in Brazil, Dr. Marcio Tannure, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, the Brazilian's condition is not a concern. “I found out about this problem from André (Pederneiras, maintenance technician) José Aldo). He (Aldo) had kidney stones before and needs to send me the test results so I can check. André told me it's not serious, and he's probably already expelled the stones,” said Tannure.

Aldo, who was treated and released on the same day, is only expected to fight again in 2014, but not because of his kidneys. The Brazilian received a three-month medical suspension after UFC Rio 4, due to a broken foot, and should only return to training within 60 days. Currently Aldo, who has seven consecutive belt defenses, also considering his title in the now defunct WEC, is fourth in the weight-for-pound rankings of Ultimate.
