The 56th edition of the event features a duel for the bantamweight title between Jonas Bilharinho and Mário Israel

Mário-Israel-x-Nildo-Katchau3-photo-Fernando-Azevedo-After holding three consecutive editions in Rio de Janeiro, the Jungle Fight travels through Brazilian territory again. The stage chosen to host the 56th edition, scheduled for August 24th, at 22pm, was the city of Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná, which also borders Paraguay and Argentina, forming the Triple Border. The main highlight of the edition will be the confrontation between the undefeated Jonas Bilharinho, from Team Nogueira, and Mário Israel, from Top Life, who will face each other for the bantamweight belt (up to 61kg).

One of the candidates for the Jungle title, Mário Israel confided that he did not expect to reach the title match so soon, but that he has been training hard to achieve this goal.

“I received the news very well. It's a goal I've always had. I knew my time would come, but I didn't imagine it would be so quickly. I beat great opponents in my last two fights at the event, so I think it's a deserved chance. As for Billiards, I had been researching him for a while, because I knew that one day I would face him. He is a great opponent, but I am well trained to win,” he said.

One of the biggest promises of the tournament, Jonas Bilharinho took the opportunity to analyze the characteristics of his opponent and promised a great spectacle for the public.

“I was a little surprised. I had asked Wallid about the belt opportunity, and hoped to have at least one more fight. I was very happy and very surprised, but now it's time to stay focused on the fight. I know that my opponent is a very tough guy, who despite coming from the ground, can do very well in striking, has a tough chin and a lot of gas. It’s going to be a great show, one of the two will fall,” he said.

President of the event, Wallid Ismail was excited about the opportunity to have another competition broadcast throughout the country and wants to encourage even more duels between Latin Americans.

“Our goal now is to start Latin struggles within the Jungle Fight. I hope it serves to encourage the growth of sport in Latin America. We will work hard to overcome the barrier of 1 million 140 thousand homes that watched our last edition on Sportv. For this reason, I brought a fight of undefeated men to compete for the bantamweight belt”, declared Wallid.
