Kamaru Usman imposes conditions for trilogy against Colby Covington

The Nigerian believes that there are still good challenges for 'Chaos' in the category and revealed the conditions for a new duel against the North American

Even defeated twice by Kamaru Usman, Colby covington remains absolute number one in the welterweight division (up to 77,1kg). However, the category champion believes that he still doesn't deserve a new opportunity to fight for the belt and said what 'Caos' needs to do to be able to face him again. The statement was made in an interview with ESPN.

“At this point, it doesn’t make sense (third fight with Covington). Go out there and sell yourself. There's a guy in the division that everyone is kind of making a big deal about, so go out there and face him. There are some fights you need to do, you haven't faced Gilbert Durinho, you didn't face Vincent Luque, you didn't face Khamzat Shimaev. So yeah, get out there and pick up a couple of wins. Then continue to sell yourself, and you can make that claim and people won’t deny you,” Usman said.

Colby covington e Kamaru Usman they faced each other on two occasions. In the first duel, in December 2019, the Nigerian knocked out 'Caos' in the fifth round. The second confrontation took place in November 2021 and ended with another victory for the champion, this time, with a unanimous decision from the judges.
