Dissatisfied and without fighting for almost two years, Davi Ramos asks to be released by the UFC

Former Brazilian promise in the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) of Ultimate, Davi ramos is dissatisfied in the organization. Without fighting for almost two years and with a sequence of two defeats, the Brazilian opened up about his situation with the company and made public his desire to be fired. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the jiu-jitsu icon clarified about the position.

“It's been a long time and they haven't cut me, so I'm asking to leave. I did everything I could. I waited, I offered to fight in other categories and they didn't give me a fight. I do not know why. I came to the United States with my own money in case someone left a fight. I could fight and nothing happened. I’m upset about all of this”, lamented the Brazilian.

Without performing since July 2020, Ramos made a point of stating that he has nothing against the company, per se. The lightweight, however, made no secret of the fact that he would rather look for a 'new home' than have to wait longer to return to action.

“I felt devalued with everything that happened. I know what an athlete I am and everything I have already achieved. I'm not criticizing the UFC, but I always had this dream and I fought hard for it, keeping my weight low, training and waiting for a fight. So far, nothing has happened. Crossed the line. I have a family, two children, a house to support and money doesn't fall from the sky. I need to make money and nothing happens. So I asked my managers to suggest my release. I asked the UFC to cut me,” he concluded.

A representative of Ultimate since 2017, Davi has seven fights for the organization. The 35-year-old Brazilian has accumulated four positive results and three negative results working for the company.
