Star of UFC 272, Colby covington seems to have momentarily forgotten his dream of becoming a linear Ultimate champion. Opponent of Jorge masvidal this Saturday (5), in a 'reckoning' fight against his former best friend, 'Caos' stated that he already has another target for the sequel. In conversation with the press at ‘half day’, the North American stated that he wants Dustin poirier as the next opponent.

“I'm worried about my appointment on Saturday and then dealing with another personal matter, with Dustin poirier. This fight needs to happen. He talked nonsense in the press,” said Covington.

Former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Poirier recently stated that he would not accept a challenge with Colby inside the octagon. The athlete even said that, if they faced each other, they would both go to prison.

The disagreement between Covington and Poirier resembles the 'Chaos' problem with Jorge masvidal. Just like ‘Jesus of the Streets’, Dustin is also an important part of American Top Team, Colby’s ‘old house’. When he was fired from the gym, the athlete began to collect dislikes.

This weekend, Colby will make his debut in the 2022 Ultimate season. The athlete seeks to recover from the defeat he suffered to Kamaru Usman, in a welterweight title fight.
