Valuev outperforms Holyfield on points

The Russian giant Nikolay Valuev encountered many difficulties, but managed to overcome the experienced Evander Holyfield, on points, retaining the World Boxing Association title, this Saturday in Zurich, Switzerland.

After looking for a fight in the first rounds, the veteran Holyfield, who was trying to regain the belt he lost in 2001 and become the oldest world champion in the category, ended up not being able to resist the weight of his 46 years and the strength of the current champion.

When choosing the referees, the majority decision went to the Russian: the first saw a draw (114 to 114), while the second and third chose to give the victory to the Russian, with the following scores: 116 to 112 and 115 to 114.
