“I would invest in a business to Conor McGregor and make him face Islam makhachev at a pay-per-view event. It's a terrible confrontation for Conor, but there's some history there. If you look at Conor and you look at Khabib, Islam is obviously very familiar with all of this. Conor would go back to his nasty ways that some people love. I don’t think Conor is afraid of anyone, I think he would sign for this fight tonight,” said Schaub.

Brendan even highlighted that Conor has already stated that he may return to acting in the middle of the year and would consider facing Makhachev. For him, however, the Russian would be the 'worst fit' for McGregor's return after a broken left ankle.

“If Conor wants to fight in the middle of the year, Islam should also think about it. It's not a terrible idea if you're a fan of Islam. It’s literally the worst possible fight in the lightweight division for Conor,” he concluded.

The feud between the two fighters began even before Makhachev's rise in Ultimate. The Russian was involved in the provocations of his 'mentor' Khabib Nurmagomedov at the height of the rivalry with Conor McGregor.
