Former UFC heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), Cain Velazquez was arrested last Monday (28) after being involved in a shooting that left a man injured in Morgan Hill, California (USA). The information was initially reported by the local newspaper “NBC Bay Area”.

Responsible for the investigation, the San Jose Police Department initially did not provide details about the charges facing the former champion, who is being held without bail in a local jail in Santa Clara in San Francisco Bay, California (USA).
According to initial information from the police, Cain Velazquez was the only person arrested in the incident and a man was hospitalized after the shooting that took place at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue, a freeway and street located in San Jose, south of the Bay, around 15:14 pm on Monday afternoon- fair. Injured, the other man was transported to a hospital with some injuries, but, according to police information, his injuries were not at risk of death.
Later, however, the San Jose police confirmed the information reported by the website “TMZ” that Cain Velazquez was accused of attempted murder. The former Ultimate champion has a hearing scheduled for noon next Wednesday (2).

Cain Velazquez He was UFC champion on two occasions between 2010 and 2015. The former champion defended the title on two occasions and established himself as one of the great names in the history of heavyweights in Ultimate. Velasquez's last Octagon appearance came in February 2019, when he was knocked out by the current champion Francis Ngannou.
