Gregory Robocop puts up a tough fight, but is outclassed by points and has his winning streak broken at UFC Vegas 49

First Brazilian representative on the main card of the UFC Las Vegas 49, event held last Saturday (26), Gregory Robocop fought hard against the newcomer Armen petrosyan. And, after balanced moments in the fight, the Brazilian ended up defeated by a split decision from the judges (28-29, 30-27, 29-28).

With the setback, Robocop's four-game winning streak is broken. Professional since 2014, he has a record of 11 triumphs and four setbacks.

Petrosyan, in turn, debuts on the right foot in Ultimate. In retrospect, there are seven positive results and only one negative in his career in mixed martial arts.

The fight

The fight began exactly as expected. The two athletes started to engage in frank exchanges, with good command of the Gregory Robocop. Armen petrosyan, on the other hand, was betting on the counterattack and saw the Brazilian enter his range of action. As the round developed, the Armenian found the distance, became more comfortable and was more effective.

The second round was marked by the ups and downs of the competitors. With a strong rhythm, Robocop hurt his opponent with good crosses, but ended up receiving some other blows that ended up shaking him. Feeling the 'taste of blood', Petrosyan started to enjoy the round and hit the Brazilian with the best blows. In the last minute, the Tupiniquim representative bet on a takedown, but was unable to keep his opponent with his back to the ground.

In the third and final round, total dominance by Gregory. The Brazilian opened a good lead with a shot that shook and opened a cut on Petrosyan. In a good moment, he even tried a leg lock and rear naked choke, but saw the Armenian make saves in both attempts. Robocop, in the final stretch, ended up getting tired and took a knee that made him wobble.
