Born and raised in San Bernadino, California, Bobby Green He came from a difficult upbringing, in which he did not have a great paternal or maternal presence in his childhood. Her father needed to work and had little time to return home, while her mother dealt with drug addiction problems. He and his brother, Mitchell Davis Jr., were raised by their grandmother, amid local violence.

"There was a lot of violence. People were killed all the time. People are everywhere, lying on the floor sleeping, in the favelas, in these dark places. It's a dead city. My father was on the streets and my mother was on drugs. When you get addicted to that kind of thing, that's it. Bobby saw more than he should have as a child. He grew up with the presence of gangs and drug trafficking, in addition to experiencing financial difficulties during his painful childhood. At age 14, Green also lost his grandmother and was forced to separate from his brother. He ended up being welcomed by another family and began his career in combat sports.

In 2014, a tragedy struck the life of Bobby Green. Still at the beginning of his career in Ultimate, the North American had won two consecutive victories and was making his dreams come true in the organization, when he received the news that his brother, Mitchell, – a great inspiration in his career – had been shot and killed in the UFC. May 31 near his home in San Bernardino.

Three other men – two of Green's uncles and a cousin – were shot but survived. The fighter's father was also in the group, but avoided the spray of bullets. Bobby still cites the case as the biggest 'pain' of his career.
