Lightweight legend (up to 70,3kg.) in MMA, Khabib Nurmagomedov may have frustrated Dana White's plans for a possible return to the UFC, but he didn't lose his good relationship with his former boss. In Las Vegas to follow Islam makhachev, which faces Bobby Green for Ultimate this Saturday (26), the Russian recorded a meeting with the 'big boss'. In the publication, the former company champion did not hide his appreciation for his president.

“It's hard to thank people who have helped you over a long period of time. Thank you very much, Dana White and Ali Abdelaziz”, wrote Khabib, on his Instagram account, referring to the UFC president and his manager, also present at the scene.
One of the biggest names in Ultimate in the organization's recent history, Khabib left the sport undefeated in October 2020. At the time, the Russian hit Justin gaethje and unified the lightweight title.
Still in the octagon, Nurmagomedov explained that he was retiring due to the loss of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. The loss of his main supporter and coach, who died that season, a victim of Covid-19, would change the course of his career in the sport.
Out of action for almost two years, Khabib is now dedicated to extending his father's legacy. The athlete continues working as a coach at American kickboxing Academy (AKA) and, this weekend, tries for another positive result with Islam makhachev, considered by many to be his successor.
